A: AWW thank youQ:︎I really do get what you mean with the shipping discussion. I also tend to find seemingly “normal” and outwardly healthy ships interesting as long as it’s not “endgame” If that makes sense. because I also like to imagine or see where it goes wrong (because They Will end up that way just by looking at the characters) does this make sense? It’s more engaging to me than to think of them or any ship as this happy, final couple Just Because I’m shipping them. Maybe they just get into this messed up situationship neither was prepared to get into in the end and that’s it….. bc realistically this happens to people with differing lives and ways of being and thinking who feel attraction. do I like them as a couple? Yes. Do I care if they break up? No . Do I care if they do all of that while still retaining complex and remanent emotions about the other that they cant escape or avoid? Absolutely (and it’s more about the character and their own individual personality and how it clashes / messes up the other than the romance itself or the romantic/sexual aspects of the relationship)

Hello...two days later.yeah, that makes sense! i'm with you. i want to see how the characters react off of each other, how different priorities/values, being in different places in life, or other elements of friction will change their relationship. sometimes that means they get together, sometimes that means they break up.
i've been wondering why i'm not interested in happy couples and i think it's because i don't see a reason to explore them. like ok, they're together and they'll be together. and they get along. and maybe they'll bicker but nothing serious. i think it's a wonderful thing for real life, but in fiction i want something with bite. there's nothing for me to get my teeth into
like, to use kabumisu as an example because i've been talking about them recently to a friend, i like the idea of it as a post-canon situationship they fall into after the emotionally charged week they just had LOL which falls apart after several intense months or years because they can't give each other what they truly want. i think the idea of them like, growing old together is cute, but i'm just not interested in it. i love it when love doesn't win

A: i dont use either of those sites LOL i’d need to dig up my old account info or make a new accountQ:︎ idk if youve answered fhis before too but (with credit) when you say "edit your art" does this include video edits? like the type with music, amvs or whatever and transitions and stuff. ive already seen yours in a few and they all had credit, i suppose stuff like that can count as "transformative content" of sorts. but the contents of the art itself wouldnt really be altered. sorry if this question is dumb😭
A: WOW that is interesting! i had no idea people did that stuff LOL.what i had in mind was this weird tendency people had on tumblr back in the day of Literally Editing people's fanart in photoshop like they would with gifs/icons of official art: changing colorschemes, adding filters and new image elements, cropping, etc and then posting it as 'their own work'. it struck me as rude back then and rude now.
if the video edit doesn't do anything egregious like that, then i'm fine with it as long as there is credit.

A: NW LOL this one is fast to answer so here it goes. this is my ranking based on vibes, my enjoyment of the setting, and how much fun i had playing them:DS1 > bloodborne > elden ring = sekiro > DS3 > DS2
ive never played demons souls myself so i cant rank it. ds1 will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first fromsoft game and i still think the first half where everything is interconnected is the best game map ive experienced
elden ring is beautiful and amazing but i knock points off because its open world. sekiro i enjoyed so much as a story and it felt like a perfected version of from’s game style but i am very bad at parrying and its combat style (even if i recognize it is well designed) so it lost points bc of my cringe skills. ds2 on the bottom bc i dislike the visual direction but i still really like the game.

im not against posting a speedpaint today but the problem is i draw all my shit on a 5000x5000 canvas and then i just make a new one when i run out of room. so id have to plan an illustration and then start recording with the canvas cropped to the right size from the start. i’ll see what i can do

LOLi’ve considered joining zines before but i haven’t applied to any yet because i don’t like being expected to draw something on someone else’s deadline. sorry for being contrary…i also get nervous when zines are large enough to be handling tens of thousands of dollars. i’m sure many zines go well, but we sure as hell hear about the ones that don’t
Q:︎ what's your favorite thing you learned from researching viking au?
A: ARMBANDS!! ARM RINGS OF GOLD!the custom of a lord bestowing armrings/bands made of precious metals to his men really stuck with me, especially since these rings could be used as currency - you could literally break one into the size you wanted to pay with LOL. so they were a symbol of status and wealth, and it immediately brought to mind the rings of power in tolkien’s works. he was very knowledgeable/inspired by germanic myths so i wouldn’t be surprised if he got the idea from this historical tradition

A: HII i’ve fallen off the wagon i’ve not been reading as much as i want!! i’ll talk about a book i mentioned here before, the world of the favourite - it’s a collection of essays about favourites and the monarchs who favoured them in the 16th-17th centuries. it’s been very interesting seeing how reliant some monarchs were on this unofficial but empowered bestie keeping things running and then how that dependence became a feature of some governments - as well as how favourites used their power, and how the monarchs would turn on the favourite… that part seems inevitable LOL.Q:︎ hello i wanted to tell you your art is like a very soft and comforting ray of sunshine everytime it shows up on my tl it makes me a bit happier so thank you for that

A: every time i see them i'm like Ohhh man. i am so not the target audience for this. it feels like i closed my eyes and suddenly the trend for like gacha, vtubers, that realm of design...was cluttered and frightening fusions of modern suits with historical clothing. how long has this been a trend?? maybe i'm just old! i do prefer older designs in anime LOL. and i'd be less critical if these designs said anything, but they just bore me. they're so...nothing! and even the designs where i can tell it is communicating smth about the character, i wish i could just scrape off all the excess kibble and throw it away. those poor bastards, overburdened by tens of pounds of accessories, trudging through the wilderness...have you no mercy?they are being designed like mascots. so each one has to be overly "unique" to the detriment of taste
'm like mentally combing through every hyv character i have seen on my tl and i think scaramouche is the only one that caught my eye bc the giant hat has an interesting silhouette, the clothing looks like real clothing more or less and not scraps of cloth glued together randomly on top of a cheap blazer, and he has an actual emotion on his face. don't get me started on the faces. man, i'm googling these characters now...itto isn't bad either. the sumeru(?) black/green haired catboy isnt bad, although the swathe of pale skin for that region is soooooooooooooooooo funny... all the girls are very unfortunate to look at, like universally. most of them i'd categorize as "sterile sexy"

i salute you for drawing all that though. and i understand what you mean about figuring out how to render all those different bits...i dont really do rendering but i love learning how to draw different fabrics and materials with just lines and shadow

A: you can make one custom pawn, that’s your “main pawn”, and then you can hire up to two other pawns - these can be premade pawns made by the devs or they can be other players’ custom pawns (this is so fun bc you can take your steam friends pawns on a walk and then send them back with gifts, or just pick a total randoms pawn and get emotionally attached to them LOL)Q:︎ How did you feel about killers of the flower moon? A: oh man ok i absolutely loved it , ive been thinking about it on and off since i saw it, it made me feel sick to my stomach not just because of the horrific shit done to the osage but also how ernest and the white people in that town's behavior and the contradiction in their thoughts and actions was familiar to me bc they still do the same shit today. the same shit to the same people...they profess to be a friend, an ally, but then cave to protect white supremacist interests at all costs. but then they want to crawl back and be friends again, forget the hideous betrayalso i thought it was an excellent movie, i didn't notice its runtime at all until i got to my car and saw the clock so i think the length was appropriate. every minute felt purposeful. lily gladstone's performance was amazing, she had such immediate charisma from the first second she was on screen and i could really understand the struggle she had with her feelings throughout the movie, how much she put up with until she just couldn't anymore
Q:︎ the thing about lex that stands out to me the most is that you're really good at writing about his bougie garlean family and the weird political scheming his mom was involved with and how that affected him as someone who's living in eorzea. and i think you said something about how prae would just be him arguing with gaius. it's been a long while so i may be misremembering but the way you fleshed him out really made me start thinking about my own wol's backstory. huge inspiration
A: thank you so much :'''') family drama wrapped up into political drama is one of my favorite things on earth. and when i make characters i first start thinking like, what is their relationship with their family, who were their peers in the past vs now, what do they believe in and how do they display (or not!) that belief, shit like that. lol god lex vs gaius in prae really is just a bunch of arguing until it devolves into violence that is less of a spectacle than the fight we got in xiv but is much uglier and more personal. i dont want to say too much though because i plan to draw a comic one day... one day...Q:︎ Just realised you are a sefikura shipper !!!! A: YESSS i love it < 3 i want them to bite each other to death. the back and forth struggle btwn them is very compelling and i've always liked it when past idolization is turned into smth horrifying.ok its so funny like i dont think its a super niche ship but i waded into the fandom for the first time since like middle school and it was literally all like cloud/tifa vs cloud/aerith deathmatches i was like, this is a little scary...backing away slowly

A: THANK YOU. ok same outcome if it is hand-to-hand - thistle is no match for cloud's mako muscles, he is getting suplexed asap. if they can both use magic/materia though, hmm.....i think it'd be a pretty even match. ff7 mastered materia seems like it can match the magic we see in dungeon meshi, so it'd just be a matter of who is fighting smarter here. if cloud can get thistle angry enough, it'll give him an opening to sneak an attack in, but he has to be wary of the same - thistle is totally ready to talk shit mid-fight so cloud needs to make sure no one slips thistle a dossier of cloud's many personal problems to pick at.and now i'm imagining the devastation of cloud's bahamut summon vs thistle's strongest monster 'the being who destroys all'........
